An Open Book

About 13 years ago a friend told me that I have so many stories to tell, I should write a blog. I experimented with it , and ended up writing 81 stories over time.

It turns out that I had a lot of experiences to draw upon, and I haven't run out of them yet! I've had several jobs, including blackjack and roulette dealer, waitress, and trimmer in a department store (I got to dress real old-fashioned mannequins!) I've written for 2 local newspapers and a national arts and crafts magazine. I've portrayed a quilter from the 1700's in an old village in New Jersey.

In around 1975, I had a born-again experience, so in many instances I'll bring my love for Jesus into my stories, just so you know.

Later on, I became a certified ophthalmic assistant, while raising my family and concentrating on being the best Mom I could to my two kids. Their Dad had a sudden stroke, and I became experienced as a caregiver. As time went on, we were divorced. We remained good friends, and in time I met Doug, whom I married. He came with 5 kids, and now we have many grandkids. Doug is featured in many of my stories, and he says it's okay to play him as "the fall guy", since it's funnier that way. (Actually it's all true...)

If you read my subsequent stories, and even the old ones at preillyh.blogspot.com that I'll be importing to this site, you'll see....
